Nurturing Critical Minds: (Inter)national Student Team Research Proposals Across Scientific Disciplines and Cultures

Conference Focus

We welcome team-based presentations of:
• Research proposals developed during the course
• Completed or ongoing research projects
• Interdisciplinary and intercultural team collaborations.

Research topics may span any scientific discipline, including (but not limited to):
Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Medicine, Law, Technology, Arts, and Business.

Who Can Participate?

• Students enrolled in the English for Academic Purposes and Research course
• Student teams (2-5 members) from different faculties and study programmes of Vilnius University
• International student teams from Arqus partner universities and any other universities.

Conference Aims


  • Foster academic collaboration across disciplines and cultures
  • Promote student agency and the value of student-led research initiatives
  • Encourage critical and creative thinking, as well as problem-solving skills
  • Provide a supportive space for practicing research communication in English
  • Enhance intercultural awareness and communication through collaborative inquiry
  • Raise awareness of the interdisciplinary nature and social impact of research

Presentation formats


  • 20-30 minute team presentations in English
  • PowerPoint or other visual support encouraged
  • Q&A session following each presentation

How to Apply


Submit the following by [27 November ] to [Insert Email/Submission Platform]:

  1. Title of your research proposal/project
  2. Abstract (150–250 words)
  3. Names, university,  faculty, study programme and year of study of all team members
  4. Indicate if your work is a proposal or a completed/ongoing project
