Daiva Penkauskienė is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Educational Sciences and Social Work at Mykolas Romeris University. Her primary research focus revolves around critical thinking and its development. Collaborating with colleagues, she has contributed to the preparation and publication of over 20 articles, methodological resources, learning tools, and books on this subject. Notably, one of her recent works is the monograph titled "Critical Thinking in Higher Education and Labour Market," which was published by Peter Lang. In addition to her research endeavors, Daiva Penkauskienė actively engages in teaching, offering a course on the "Development of Critical Thinking" to university students. She also integrates the development of critical thinking skills into other subjects that she teaches. Beyond academia, Daiva PEnkauskienė is a founding director of the non-governmental organization "Modern Didactics Centre."
